3 Signs You Could Benefit From a Commercial Composting System

Composting is an incredible way to return nutrients to the earth. Made from organic materials like dead leaves, eggshells, food scraps, and even dead plants, composting can make the difference between an old, dated landscaping job and plants that become lush, healthy, and beautiful. Fortunately, you can invest in commercial composting systems that make creating compost fast and easy. Here are three signs you could benefit from a commercial composting system.

1. You Have Enough Raw Material for Composting

Composting is a worthwhile endeavor, but some businesses fall short in creating the compost they need simply because they don't generate enough raw material. Think about whether or not you have things like mature trees on your lot that may drop leaves, a kitchen that may produce food scraps, or grass clippings that would work well for the job. If you feel that you have enough raw material for the job, consider storing it in a simple DIY composting heap at the back of your lot for a while to see if it would be worth investing in a composting tool.

2. The Grounds Are Heavily Landscaped

If you have plenty of flowerbeds, tall trees, and heavily landscaped areas, you may benefit from a commercial composting system, simply because you have a lot of different areas to take care of. However, if the grounds on your lot aren't heavily landscaped and you don't plan on making any big changes, it may not be worth adding the supplemental system. Think about how much landscaping you do now and whether or not it would be worth it to bolster your program in the future.

For instance, if you have just purchased a large commercial lot that is pretty barren, buying commercial composting could make it easy to have everything you need to create a more functional, lush outdoor space.

3. You Are Committed to Eco-Friendly Tactics

If one of the missions of your company is reducing, reusing, and recycling, composting just makes sense. Think about your business mission and mantra and whether or not it would fall in line with your core values to commit to recycling and using compost. If composting would help you to show the public how committed you are to an idea, it could be incredibly beneficial to purchase the right equipment.

Remember, anytime you are thinking about adding landscaping equipment or materials for your business, it pays to talk with your landscaping team about what they need and would recommend. Sit down with your landscapers to ask if they want to compost, whether they would be able to tackle the job, and if they think it would benefit the grounds.
